Okamoto Launches New PRG-iQ Series – Intelligent Grinding for Highest Precision
At EMO 2025 in Hanover, Okamoto will be presenting the PRG-6iQ, with a Ø600mm table, from the new PRG-iQ series, an advanced rotary surface grinding machine that combines precision, productivity and user-friendliness in a compact system. Specially developed for the requirements of modern manufacturing companies, the PRG-iQ series offers intelligent and easy to use setting routines with maximum process reliability at the same time.
The PRG-iQ series is characterized by a particularly simple operating concept. The central element is a 15-inch colour touchscreen with the proven iQ control software, which allows operators without CNC experience to quickly and safely adjust all grinding parameters. Thanks to predefined machining cycles and graphical user guidance, even complex grinding processes can be implemented efficiently.
Technology meets ease of use
- Precise infeed down to 0.1 μm enables ultra-precise grinding of sensitive workpieces.
- Rotating table with Ø 600 or 1000 mm, ideal for round and flat parts.
- Suitable for high productivity or precision grinding of all materials.
- Fully automatic grinding with automatic in-cycle wheel dressing and parking at the end of the cycle.
- The double column construction with hanging wheel-head and fully supported cross-slide, guarantees a highly robust and stiff design, thereby ensuring maximum production with minimal wheel wear. Thanks to the ring-shaped table cover design, the machine footprint remains compact.
